actually July 29
In many ways this was something I started
at 22 when caring for NOT an “elderly” father but an ill father. Alone my brother and sister not living
here I became the child caregiver bathing and bath rooming my father as he struggled
being treated for 2 different cancers, a stroke that occurred during a surgery.
This resulted in 2 months of sitting at his bedside at in the intensive care
unit at the old east side Columbia Hospital watching for when the respirator would
kick in for this 57 year old father that physically appeared to be “elderly”. This
pod cast is a very touching conversation that I am in the midst of once again
now with my mother.
At “30-31” minutes in there is the discussion that
describes where I am in my family dynamics as far as the caregiver .The end of
this interview I am reminded of so many issues so many people / families carry with
them and keep close to their vest ~ “close
to their heart” We are not alone…

Wow years later and I feel the same way. To many people not minding their own business and improving them self. I have too much to thinking about what I am trying to get done to think about what other people are doing. But I have to admit I love helping people adding a creative spin to what they might do. Collaboration that is the important thing. How can we be positive and help each other be successful. Yeah that's the ticket!

A Kinder Way to Do It
In everything we do we need to think "is there a kinder way to do it?" From what we say to how we say it. For example when evaluations are given what is the intent of that evaluation? Is it for growth/improvement or to tell you what you do wrong? When people speak to each other do they think about what they say or how they say it? Is our fast pace world causing us to speak without thinking?
